On June 14, 2026, the Charles Nkazamyampi Foundation (FCN) organized a 4-kilometer community race in Butanyerera Province, Kirundo Commune, Kigoma Zone. This initiative brought together young people from the Rugando, Nyamabuye, and Muyange zones in a spirit of fraternity, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence.

More than just a sporting event, the race provided a platform for interaction, dialogue, and closer relationships among participants, strengthening social bonds and fostering a culture of peace within the community.

The impact of the initiative was remarkable: 100 young people voluntarily committed themselves to becoming Peace Ambassadors in their respective communities. To put this commitment into action, they formed four groups of 25 members each, which will carry out awareness-raising activities, conflict prevention initiatives, and social cohesion campaigns.

Local authorities who attended the event commended and appreciated FCN’s efforts to promote peacebuilding within the Kirundo community.

This strong mobilization reflects the willingness of young people to become agents of change and actively contribute to building a more peaceful, united, and harmonious society.
