As part of the project “Sport as an Essential Tool for Peace, Social Cohesion, and Inclusive Development,” financially supported by Baden-Württemberg, the Charles Nkazamyampi Foundation carried out a rabbit distribution activity on the 4th and 5th for young people from the communes of Matongo and Kirundo, in Butanyerera Province.

This activity is part of the Foundation’s program aimed at promoting agropastoral entrepreneurship and economic empowerment of youth in rural areas. Before receiving the rabbits, the young beneficiaries had undergone training in agropastoral practices, with a particular focus on rabbit farming and agriculture.

The distribution of rabbits therefore strengthens the practical application of the knowledge acquired during these trainings. The rabbits come at the right time, as they represent a concrete opportunity for income generation for young people. Thanks to their rapid reproductive capacity, rabbit farming not only enables short-term income generation but also contributes to food security and the improvement of living conditions for rural households.
