The community united around Christian and peace values

In partnership with Glo, On 23 January 2026, the Charles Nkazamyampi Foundation (FCN) organized a powerful community sports and Evangelism event in Bujumbura Province, Rwibaga Commune, Matara zone using sport and evangelism as a unifying force for peace and social cohesion.
Glo team and Daniel from India took part in the event, they compete with the youth of Matara zone during the athletic competition.
The football match brought together young people, community leaders, and residents from different backgrounds in an atmosphere of joy, respect, and fair play. Beyond competition, the event became a living demonstration of how sport can break down barriers, foster dialogue, and strengthen bonds within the community.
At the heart of the activity was a collective commitment to peace. Seven hundred and fifty peace commitment cards were distributed and they have been signed by participants pledging to reject violence, promote mutual understanding, and actively contribute to peaceful coexistence in their families and communities.
Simon and Daniel highlighted the event by the message of gospel they share with the youth of Matara, they both called upon the youth to receive Jesus in their lives, Daniel used the very meaningful words by teaching the youth the importance of welcoming Jesus in their heart and the difference of loving Jesus and following Jesus.
Simon let the youth know that God is knocking on a door, if you let Him in, he will enter and transform your life, he helped the youth by a prayer to receive Jesus in their lives.
The event left a lasting impact by inspiring hope, strengthening social harmony, and reminding the community that peace and Christian values are not only concept, but a daily choice made to harmonize the community.
