As part of the ongoing project implemented by the Charles Nkazamyampi Foundation (FCN) with financial support from GLO, two youth groups in Butanyerera Province, among the six groups already established in the area, came together on August 15, 2026, to play a football match in the Cewe Zone.

This activity was part of the project’s objective to promote peace, strengthen social cohesion, and contribute to sustainable community development through sport. It also aimed to strengthen ties between communities and demonstrate to young people that FCN supports their community initiatives, particularly solidarity actions such as the construction and rehabilitation of houses for vulnerable widows.

At the end of this friendly match, both teams were rewarded for their participation. The winning team received a large goat and a soccer ball, while the runner-up team received a small goat and a soccer ball.

These rewards serve both as recognition of their efforts and as encouragement to continue initiatives that promote mutual support and community development.

In his speech, the Chief of Cewe Zone thanked FCN for the various achievements already accomplished in the area and for its commitment to supporting young people and the community. He also encouraged the youth to continue practicing sports, preserve peace, and become true ambassadors of peace, social cohesion, and sustainable community development.
